DESCRIPTION:Learn or review the basics of ice climbing in this introductory course. We will learn about ice climbing equipment\, technique and safety. A professional guide service will provide equipment and instruction. We will be climbing on easy terrain at the Ouray Ice Park. Some climbing experience is recommended. Details on where to meet and get equipment will be determined shortly. This will be a great way for a beginner to get basic information that can lead to further ice climbing education. SUMMARY:Naturalist Hikes in Ouray
DESCRIPTION:Are you interested in connecting with the landscapes of Ouray? Do you desire more knowledge of the regional plants and animals that inhabit the San Juans? Or do you simply wish for a fun and engaging exploration that you can share with your family? On May 2 from 10am – 2pm\,  join San Juan Mountains Association on our free\, interpretive hike to explore our winter landscape and reveal how a little sun can make life in winter a whole lot easier. We will compare and contrast shady North Slopes with other “sunnier” hillsides in the Ouray Valley. \n\n\n\nGroups will meet at the Ouray Visitor Center at 9:00 a.m on May 2.
