Adult Ice Climbing Clinic at the Ouray Ice Park

The Beaumont Hotel offers an ice climbing event for adults at the Ouray Ice Park every winter. This beginner friendly course is made for people who are new to ice climbing and want to learn the basics like gear, proper climbing methods and how to stay safe. It’s led by a qualified guide who has the proper training and experience. Whether you’ve never used an ice axe before or need to brush up on your skills before moving forward, this clinic is where you should begin.

What You’ll Learn

  • Ice climbing gear is supplied by a trained guide. You don’t need to bring your own equipment.
  • Participants will climb on easy terrain at the Ouray Ice Park.
  • The clinic teaches how to use an ice axe, how to properly use crampons and covers important safety rules.
  • The instruction is given by a professional guide who has experience in winter alpine settings.

  • Cost: $50 per person
  • Date and Time: Sunday, March 8th, 2026 at 8:00 AM – Noon
  • Terrain: Simple trails at the Ouray Ice Park for easy level rides. Some previous climbing experience is suggested.
  • Equipment: The guide service provides all the gear needed.
